How to remove sweat stains from a garment
Stains are a real problem on clothing, especially white clothing. It’s horrible to see those yellowish stains which are so hard to remove! And if traces of sweat are not completely removed, odors persist and material deteriorates. Here are some tips for removing perspiration stains from your clothes.
4 tips for removing sweat stains
White vinegar
You can remove sweat stains with a little white vinegar mixed with water. Simply soak the garment before rubbing it by hand. Then wash the garment in the machine.
Machine washing powder
Do not wash different colors together. Take, for example, a white cloth and soak it in warm water mixed with a little liquid soap. Leave to soak for at least twenty minutes, rinse and put the garment through the machine.
Lemon juice
Give some vitamins to your clothing and to beat sweat marks with a little lemon juice. This easy tip is especially recommended for delicate fabrics. Soak a little a rag with diluted lemon juice and use this to pat the yellowish parts. Leave it to take effect until it dries, then wash.
Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent way to remove sweat marks. Soak a rag with hydrogen peroxide, rinse then wash it in the machine.
Other cleaning solutions
If the above-mentioned tips don’t get rid of sweat stains, try one of the following:
- Washing soda
- Oxalic acid
- Ammonia: use this product in the open air, equipped with household gloves and a mask to avoid breathing the fumes.
